Hey, thanks for visiting!

Thanks for getting to know me, and being curious about me personally. How I present myself and who I am factor into the reasons I want to represent Winterville on the City Council. Of course, this is just a snapshot of my story. If you want the real inside scoop, reach out to me and let's chat!

The Dinner Party Summary

What about Tim makes him a good candidate for City Council?

My skills and strengths lie in administration, communication, and problem-solving. I believe these are the qualities most useful for the city's future. My previous experience in our city government and working in these often complex spaces will allow me to quickly get up to speed and work on our goals. While I believe every candidate would bring something valuable to the table, I also think that what I offer would be uniquely valuable to our city, given the types of challenges and time restraints we face.

About Me.

I am proud to say that I am a third generation Winterville citizen. My grandparents, Jacque and Dean Pierce, moved here in the 70s, and raised their children here. I was raised in this ancestral home. I was confirmed in the Winterville United Methodist Church, and attended Winterville Elementary, all the way to Cedar Shoals and UGA. While at college, I met and married the love of my life, Gabriella Sandberg, and moved into Gordon Circle. After completing my master's, I joined Oasis Counseling Center in Athens as a clinical counselor, and became an lecturer at a local college. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been living with my Grandmother, and caring for the family farm. Except for a brief time away in 2023, I plan to stay here to watch these trees grow that we've planted.

In what free time I have, I try to stay active. I am a martial artist, holding a blackbelt in Yoshukai Karate, and a blue belt in Kyuki-do. I also run and weight lift- if you live along the Firefly Trail, you've probably seen us running. The last couple of years I have started participating in Spartan Races, which I train irregularly for. I also have a soft spot of for curling up on the couch with Gabby and not exercising- playing video games, watching movies, or listening to our record collection. I love a good debate, and I'm not afraid to work or get dirty. I am not the best at small talk, but will sit off in a corner for hours, talking about existential fears or past experiences.

But honestly, if you want to get to know me, just shoot me an email and let's sit down and chat.
