The Policies and Focuses that guided Tim's tenure, and will continue to be important to his time in office.

Get Winterville Outdoors

An Active Community is an Engaged Community!

With the advent of the Firefly Trail, the continued progress on the Complete Streets and Trails program, and completion of the Auditorium and Community Center, Winterville continues to give its citizens more reasons to be in the community together. Timothy wants to work on projects that give people something to do or see along these routes. For Tim, completing the goal of connecting all our neighborhoods to accessible trails, voting to fund historical preservation, continuing to champion the Firefly Trail, and developing new city-wide investments in our parks and public spaces will be a specific focus if re-elected. He voted in support of all these efforts before, and will continue to do so.

Economic Growth through Investing in City Needs

The People as the Engine of Development

Often, cities try to attract businesses and new developments to jump-start their local economy, and then attempt to further generate revenue increases through proposed growth. Tim wants to try a much older style of city development. Historically, jobs and economic growth were a byproduct of a healthy community, rather than the other way around. Tim consistently worked with, advocated for, and voted in favor of Marigold Collective Development, increased services at the Community center, and funding increases for EMS, FD, and PD. Along with this, there is the impact transportation has on growth and building prosperity in Winterville. Continuing the progress made by Mayor Dodd Ferrelle and previous city councils in managing and improving traffic flow is a valuable goal for enhancing the quality of life here.

Incremental Investment and Development

Getting resilient results, rather than efficient results.

Growth can be great for a city, and it has been really good for Winterville. Tim wants to keep us growing. Maintaining financial solvency and treating land as the most basic resource from which to develop a community are two foundational beliefs of Tim's candidacy. By remaining profitable, Winterville will be able to take care of itself when inevitable challenges arise. Also, Winterville has a finite amount of land it can develop. Making careful, long-term decisions with land use is a critical component of Tim's platform. Tim voted against the Moores Grove Development, but voted for Six-Mile Station and for rebuilding the blacksmith building.

Increasing the Volume of Involved Citizenry

City decisions should be made by- and for- everyone.

Tim continues to advocate for as many voices as possible to be engaged in developing our city. To that end, Tim supported the Communications Committee, advocated for increased methods of sharing city news, and plans to target disenfranchised voters in the city further.
